Okaukoejo 1/10/11 (Day 27)

The threatening rain did not come to anything - a couple of speckles but it did cool the ambient temperature down slightly.
Jackal are plentiful wandering around in the campsite. Luis "befriended" this little lass:

Just after this pic was taken, she ripped the rubbish packet to shreds. Friendship died at the same time as the packet!

During the night they must have wrestled with our wash up bowl. This morning it was broken as though they had had a tug-o-war with it!
The people on the site next to us had their caravan with tent erected. The
Jackal got into the tent and made off with their coffee container. It was found by park staff about 1km away with puncture marks all over! Jackal have a liking for coffee!

Yet another lovely evening spent at the waterhole. A few herd of elephant, 5 rhino, jackal, herons.
The elephant from different herds appeared to greet one another lovingly

There was no pushing or shoving, just gentle trunk entwinement.

One the road again into the vast, grassy plains.
Greeted by this lovely fella:

Red Necked Falcon:

Peep-o:

Pygmy Falcon:

Ahhhhhh, that's good, back scratch time:

Bliss, just a little bit down and to the left:

Luis had done phenomenally well with our meals. All sorts of interesting veggie concoctions let alone the potjie dishes.
