Okaukoejo 2/10/11 (Day 28)

Have to have a giggle at the little sociable weavers.

They are busy, busy, busy. The male (I assume) is constantly picking up bright, colourful, small objects and proffering them to his chosen lady. She does not always like the offering and he promptly moves off to his next lady. Fickle!!!!
One male lion at waterhole last night.

We learnt to adjust white balance to take out the sodium "orange", however, the minute you use the flash, the subject comes out blue. Have some incredible blue elephant pics!

New slant to seeing pink elephants!

Couple of ellies hung around for a while then some giraffe came to visit:

We had such a (quiet) giggle as Luis, against all odds, tried to capture a nightjar in flight. Manual focus, slow shutter speed - best result:

Definitely not an award winning shot but a good, fun memory!

Temperature did a very welcome drop during the night. Much cooler this morning. Let's see how long it lasts.
Couple of small snakes on the road today. Probably coming out for the heat of the road. Too quick for us to capture on camera, though.
A quiet morning run, no "out of the ordinary" sightings apart from this rather frightened rabbit:

Came back to camp to find it deserted - bliss!
Local waterhole is teeming with animals rushing to quench their thirst:

I did not have my wide angle lens so could not capture the "big picture".
