Day 10 Namutoni

Finished off our last night at Waterberg (reiterate - awesome place!). Had a family of Damara Dikdik (which we initially thought were Suni) grazing peacefully nearby.

Owls visited again during the night.  Scops landed on the ground right in front of us but would not pose for a photograph!

Uneventful, but further than envisaged, trip to get to Namutoni.  Did see a lot of game on the grass verges and eagles on the telegraph poles on the way here.
This is a lovely place - pan stretching for miles and miles - the below pic is Fischer Pan, not even the main (huge) Etosha Pan.

Experienced some lovely sightings today - our first Black Faced Impala:

She was accompanied by a lovely ram with a magnificent set of horns - have pic but it doesn't do justice to the black face.
We had a close, partial sighting of 2 male lions in a somnolent posture (no cage, and no Albert with his stick with the horses head handle (",)) but they were lying behind bushes.  We no sooner drove off from them and encountered a leopard:

He was a fair distance away and lying in the shade.  Other people failed to see him and drove on.
Ah ..... this is the life.
Nearly ready for bed - we have adopted diurnal animal habits:  rise with the sun, seek shade (or aircondiitoned car) during hot part of day and start waking up again around 4ish.  Fast asleep by (normally) 9ish.  Tonight we are going to take an amble down to the waterhole view point.
The gate times here are ,,,,, wait for it .....:  7H06 to 18H54 - strange but true!
Luis has made every meal since we started this epic journey - he's a star.  He pretty much does everything else as well!  (He "shouts" at me if I try to "help"),
To our mate, Clivey:  wanna make a lot of money? - work on a 12volt Dannfoss Compressor Ice Maker. Man, it's 21H00 and we're still running 27deg.  Can't seem to get enough ice here!
